Dear Blockhead Supporters:

On Wednesday, May 1st at 6 PM in the cafeteria at LCHS, Dr. Debra Cradduck, Ass’t Superintendent of Human Resources, and Ms. Octavia Thuss, School Board Member, will return to give an update on STEM and support for the Blockheads in as part of the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) at LCUSD.

Please come in person to see the result of your input from our Jan. 10th LCAP discussion and discuss the plans going forward.  If you feel that STEM, Robotics, Engineering and the La Canada Engineering Club are important for our students and families, now is the time to speak up!

Come hear the upcoming plans and talk about:

1) How STEM and especially the Engineering/Robotics activities of LCEC meets the needs of our individual students
2) How it encourages growth and preparation for college, jobs and careers
3) How it helps the emotional and social well being of students and families
4) How can the current opportunities be improved? Do we want to see it resourced (educational staff, course work, facilities) like other major programs such as Instrumental Music, Choir, Theater, Football, etc.
5) How important are student pathways from Elementary school all the way through high school graduation?
6) How many families and children are interested in this?
7) Why is school district support important? Can volunteers do this by themselves?
8) Should this officially be part of Career Technical Education (CTE) in LCAP? Should their be accreditation/ROP support for this?
